These water absorbing crystals expand up to 400 times their original size when moistened! These crystals retain this moisture and slowly release it into the soil for your plants to use. When you water the plants, they swell right back up and retain the moisture so it can be delivered over a period of time again. A real water saver!
One ounce of dry crystal powder swells to a full gallon of gel crystals! Simply add these moistened crystals to your potted houseplants or garden soil to help retain it's moisture content.
Each packet contains 2 ounces of dry crystal powder, and there are approximately 12 teaspoons of powder per packet.
To use the crystals, simply place the desired amount in a large container. Add 1 cup of water per teaspoon of water absorbing crystals. In a relatively short period of time (approximately 30 minutes), the crystals will absorb the water and swell. Mix some of this moistened gel with your soil.
Caution: Do not mix the dry powder into your soil. Always pre-moisten before use. Mixing dry powder into the soil will result in using too much powder. When the powder swells, your plants will be pushed out of the soil, and may die.
